We seek a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher to assist in a pre-kindergarten classroom with an ongoing program of activities that promote each child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in a loving, faith-based environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Is responsible for a group of children's overall supervision and daily class functions.
  • Able to work with multiple age groups from infant to pre-kindergarten.
  • Able to substitute when the lead teacher is absent.
  • Help maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions confidently.
  • Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing precise and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
  • Accepts responsibility for the classroom's maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties, everyday use areas, and playgrounds.
  • Attends all required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
  • Assists in other capacities that Director determines is necessary.

Desired Skills and experience:

  • Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
  • Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
  • Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children
  • Passionate about working with children.
  • Must be able to lift to 35 lbs. in connection with handling children to facilitate programs, child safety, and potential emergencies. Infant and Young toddlers teachers must be able to lift infants into and out of a crib properly.
  • Preschool Teachers: DCF 45 Hours, CDA or 2 Year Degree Preferred
  • CPR/First Aid certified or willing to do so.

The College Park CDC is a full-time childcare facility (8:00 am -5:00 pm) that uses curriculum-based learning and developmentally appropriate programs to give your child the best care possible. Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
