Description:
The Parish Assistant Coordinator of Religious education is responsible for the direction of a specific part of a parish's total Religious Education Program, i.e., early sacramental preparations (baptism, first reconciliation, and First Eucharist).

Is directly responsible for the programs of sacramental preparations, which include preparing and sending correspondences in matters relating to baptism, first reconciliation, and first eucharist.

Meets with parents seeking baptism and coordinates the collection of necessary documents.

Sets up the date and time for the administration of baptism.

In collaboration with the parish, REC, conducts parents'' meetings, sacramental preparation workshops, and rehearsals.

Assists in the task of setting up catechetical registration dates and preparing materials for the year.

Is responsible for maintaining sacramental records.

Assist the parish REC in other faith formation -related duties.

Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The Coordinator of Religious Education is expected to have capabilities in Theology, Program Coordination, Coordination of Catechist Development , Communication and Relationships and Administration. Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies or related field or equivalent experience and experience and education as well as spiritual leadership skills. Must have or be in the process of obtaining a Master Catechist Certification by the Diocesan Office of Religious Education/Secretariat for Evangelization and Family Life.

Must have a high level of organizational and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and working well with others is also required.
