First Presbyterian Church of Orlando is hiring an AV Intern to join our Creative Team. This role provides weekly support in broadcast, camera ops, screens/slides, lighting and audio, as needed.

The AV Intern works in tandem with the Technical Producer and Broadcaster to provide support for worship services, meetings, lectures, concerts, and other events (live and virtual) throughout campus and occasional remote locations. Prior AV experience is preferred but not required. Willingness and aptitude to learn quickly, work in a fast-paced environment, think critically and with technical proficiency, and adapt with excellent problem-solving decisions during a live show environment is a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain excellent working relationships with staff, volunteers and church members.
• Ensure the effective, safe and timely set-up and operation of AV equipment.
• Assists with coordinating AV equipment setup and use for ongoing and special events as well as extracurricular events such as weddings and other non-church events.
• Maintain and document systems and processes to support team workflows.
• Facilitate mic prep/check for pastors, band, choir and instruments.
• Provide lighting and video production support as needed.
• Research and recommend new and best technologies in AV applications.
• Ensure effective and safe operation of all AV equipment and systems.
• Ensure enhanced production value and supreme quality in all AV deliverables.
• Other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge and experience with AV production processes and systems.
• Knowledge and experience with projection display and livestream processes and systems.
• Experience with microphone setup, testing and operation.
• Ability to multi-task and remain calm while keeping focused on priorities in high-pressure situations is required.
• Ability to flex schedule to meet production needs outside of traditional office hours: i.e. weekends, evenings, Christmas/Easter.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Lift, carry, climb and adjust equipment at heights and in tight spaces.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. from standing position bending knees, using arms, shoulders, back and upper body.
• Generally staging for special events – indoors but occasionally outdoors. Requires lifting, moving, setting up and breaking down of A/V equipment.
• Bend as necessary for lifting, sitting and/or using computer, computer mouse and other equipment.
• Operate tools/equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The noise level in the work environment is often loud.
• The environment can be very cold or very hot, depending on time of year and location.
• Tight, high and electrically charged spaces are frequented in the responsibilities of this role.
