A bachelor’s degree in ministry, education, or a closely-related field is required. A master’s degree is preferred. At least three years’ experience in student ministry, education, or retention is required. The Campus and Retention Minister must understand the development and needs of both traditional (age 18-22) and non-traditional students. A background in the Stone-Campbell Movement churches is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Engage with students, especially the highest risk students, holding students accountable and keeping them engaged and enrolled until graduation.
Minister to students’ spiritual and emotional needs, especially the highest risk students, including offering appropriate pastoral counseling.
Organize and lead chapel and chapel groups on the Florida campus.
Minister to the spiritual and emotional needs of faculty and staff, serving as a pastor to the entire campus community.
Practice hospitality in order to engage with and minister to students, faculty, and staff.
Serve on the University’s Retention Committee, working collaboratively with the Director and Assistant Director of the Academic Support Center, the Athletic Director, coaches, and others to keep students enrolled until graduation.
Participate in occasional staff meetings.
Be actively involved in student recruitment efforts, including working collaboratively with admissions personnel.
Assist with special events and programs as requested.
Be actively involved with students outside of chapel and office settings for the purpose of mentoring and spiritual development.
Develop and implement budgets for specific areas of responsibility.
