Reports to: Director of Children's Ministry

Job Description:
Christ United Fellowship is a church, and we’re looking for adults that enjoy working with children, ages 0-4 years, who can help provide dependable, safe, and nurturing childcare while parents are in the main church service or Sunday school.

Responsibilities:
Provide age-appropriate care, which could include changing diapers, escorting children to the bathroom, and interacting with children through play.
Remain in the classrooms until all children have been picked up.
Be polite and friendly to all parents, children, and church volunteers you might work with. A church volunteer(s) will work in the nursery with you and will prepare for the story time and should help clean up.
We meet in a school, so the church areas have to be set up and cleaned up each week. We have tried to streamline this process to make it as simple as possible. Some of the responsibilities will include:
Going over the floors we use in the children’s areas with a carpet sweeper
Wiping down all counters and tables used for snack time.
Setting up a plastic table that is used for parents to sign their children in and out of the nursery.
Setting out toys before children arrive, then wiping them down with a sanitary wipe and placing them back on the storage shelves during clean up.
Putting all supplies away once the children have been picked up by their parents or guardians.
Communicate planned absences with two-week advance notice, or unplanned absences at least five hours prior to the shift. We depend on our childcare workers during Sunday mornings in order to comply with our Child Protection Policy and childcare workers are expected to be there every Sunday unless it is a planned absence.
Report all injuries or issues that may happen to the Children’s Ministry Director.

Qualifications:
At least 18 years of age
Prior experience working with children preferred
Completion of background check & and job interview
Exhibit behavior aligning with Christ United Fellowship’s beliefs
At least 1 reference
Caring and compassionate attitude
Physical stamina – in caring for the kids, childcare workers will need to bend over and may need to carry infants and toddlers, being able to lift 25 pounds.
