Job can be done mostly remote, requirement to work from the church one day a week (typically Thur or Fri).

Pay rate –

Hourly $12.00 per hour, approximately 40 hours per month, paid monthly

Approximately 12 hours per week

Flexible work schedule - work from home available with reliable internet connection, partial hours from church property

General Overview:

1. We are a Christian church that believes Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. He is our savior, the messiah and He died on our behalf for the forgiveness of sins. Faith in Jesus is the only way to eternal life and salvation. We try to emulate his grace, compassion, integrity and love in everything we do, including how we interact with people. During normal working conditions, Christian ideas, values and faith will be discussed.

2. Must be pleasant, discreet, tactful, and capable of honoring confidential communications. All clothing must be respectful.

8. Perform general office work, under the supervision of the Pastor and cooperation with the other staff

9. Strong computer skills are imperative (MS Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office365)

10 Proficiency in the use of standard office tools (scanner, copy machine, etc.)

11. Strong organizational skills

12. Have excellent command of English composition and punctuation.

13. Smoking, drinking, illegal drug use prohibited.

14. Obey all state, federal and church requirements for Covid-19 safety precautions.

Job Description Overview

This list is of the primary responsibilities, as times and technology change responsibilities may change also.

  • Coordinator of all activities at All Saints Lutheran Church.
  • Records and prints out the times when renters are using the building(s)
  • Record and print out times when All Saints have activities planned
  • When All Saints activities conflict with the renters, notification is to be sent to the renters a minimum of 30 days beforehand letting them know we will be using the building.
  • If a renter contacts you with questions or needs, forwarding the information to the appropriate person in a timely manner.
  • Keeping the congregation informed of prayer concerns, upcoming events and weekly bulletins by email. Sending out prayer requests and preparing PowerPoints for funeral services on short notice, possibly outside of normal working hours.
  • Recording the weekly and special monetary gifts into the computer. Working with the treasurer to prepare weekly and monthly reports. Preparing year end giving statements. Record and prepare thank you notes of special contributions.
  • Preparing the Sunday worship; developing a PowerPoint (from a template file), writing a bulletin (from a template), prayers, lessons. Coordinating a schedule of Lay Readers, and emailing the lessons to readers. Working with the organist weekly to coordinate hymns for each service and including them in the PowerPoint. Preparing a large print bulletin for the pastor and the service assistant. Office365 will be utilized for document sharing.
  • Working with all the committees and the organist providing them with whatever help they need in getting everything ready for their activities at the church.
  • Answering the phone, opening the mail, emails and forwarding as necessary to the appropriate person or committee.
  • Purchasing all paper products and cleaning supplies and supplies for worship. Working with the altar guild and the janitorial team to purchase supplies as needed. Working with the pastor to purchase baptism supplies, worship material etc.
  • Posting and updating the webpage. Working with the tech team, committees to post updates, including posting the activities the committees and congregational members have participated in as well as upcoming events and other announcements.
  • Keeping records of congregation membership. Includes gathering and keeping the phone numbers, emails and mailing addresses.
  • Mailing thank you to visitors.

Additional responsibilities include:

* Keep church staff informed of member’s needs such as deaths, illness and other crises.

* Perform general office work; maintain supplies and various files; keep records and compile these into periodic or occasional reports. Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.

* File reports, correspondence and other assigned materials.

* Exercise tact, courtesy, confidentiality and diplomacy in receiving callers, in person or by telephone.

* Keep conversations with the pastor confidential.

* Keep medical information confidential.

* Prepare or type letters or other documents as needed; use word processing

equipment as required.

* Photocopy documents and assemble as needed.

* Do routine letters and documents as needed/requested.

* Keep accurate church records, (e.g., church members, prospects, calendar, etc.)

* Scheduling and following church policy regarding building usage.

* Keep a weekly time log of hours worked and tasks completed.

* Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor.

COVID-19 considerations:
All church patrons are required to wear a mask on church property, as well as additional cleaning/sanitizing measures.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Microsoft Office: 1 year (Required)
  • Customer Service: 1 year (Required)
