Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Communications:
Responsible for the creation of all bulletins. Proficient in Publisher in order to create weekly bulletins. Bulletins need to be made in line with a timeline set forth by the printing company, sometimes requiring bulletins to be created in advance.
Proficient in varying forms of editing software (Photoshop, Canva, PowerPoint) in order to create weekly slides for Mass that promote different events and ministry announcements.
Manages social media on the Website, Parish App, Facebook and YouTube - as well as clean out no longer relevant material.
Promotes Church and Ministry events through Social Media platforms.
Works in direct contact with parish staff and ministry heads in order to help promote their individual needs.
Sends out messages through the church’s designated communications app
Creates materials for varying projects (New Parishioners Packets, Stewardship pamphlet, Ministry Booklets, Prayer Cards, Etc…)
Coordinates scheduling and logistics for tapings, photo shoots and printed materials.
Proficient in various video editing software in order to create videos as requested, and ensures they are posted and available on all our media platforms.
Helps to develop and maintain print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to newsletters, brochures, website, annual report, event programs, advertisements, photos, infographics, videos and social media ensuring a unified brand identity and production quality standards.
Orders all badges and business cards for the office as needed.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field. Two to three years of experience as a media coordinator or similar. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and a working knowledge of PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge and hands-on experience with software for graphic design, print formation, content creation, video streaming and audio editing is preferred.

  • Ability to explore and learn new software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent project management skills, including attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common journals, articles, and periodicals. Must have outstanding problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply routine mathematical concepts such as addition, multiplication, and division.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Position requires walking, sitting for extended periods of time, bending, stretching, and stooping. Repeated use of hands, fingers, wrists, and arms. Must be able to see up close as well as from afar. Job incumbent must also possess the ability to hear and communicate both verbally and in writing, in person and via telephone and electronic communications.
