Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, the Data Manager helps to advance the technology vision of the Diocese by collecting, analyzing and applying data and administering effective data management strategies. In the execution of these duties, the Data Manager liaises with Diocesan and entity leadership as well as with various vendors and contractors, ensuring timely and successful project outcomes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Partners with Diocesan and entity leadership to assist with the rollout of database projects
Partners with Diocesan and entity leadership to develop related management reports
Develops and implement procedures for effective data management
Manages data standardization efforts
Creates rules and procedures for data sharing
Regularly monitors and evaluates information and data systems and identify areas of improvement
Continually develops data management strategies
Assists with recognizing and upholding digital security systems to protect delicate information
Develops training curriculum related to the use of diocesan databases
Coordinates training curriculum for Diocesan and entity personnel on use of databases and manage training schedules
Contributes to the policy creation and revision process as it relates to data management
Liaison between Diocese and The Catholic Foundation regarding data synchronization and other data sharing efforts
Maintains technical knowledge by attending conferences and other job related learning opportunities
Travel to Diocesan entities when necessary to assist with data management
Negotiates with software vendors to achieve beneficial results for the Diocese

Requirements:
Requires an appreciation and respect for Catholic Church and its teachings. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the policies of the diocese.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
A minimum of 5+ years of experience in data management or analysis.
Ability to decipher and organize large amounts of data. An analytical mindset with superb communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to translate complex problems clearly.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word etc.) Experience in developing and implementing training programs. SQL experience a plus.
