Description:
The Digital Communications Manager supports the Communications Secretariat in the efforts to evangelize the Central Florida Catholic community by communicating the Gospel message in a variety of online ways to engage and compel people to enkindle a deeper faith and to be formed as leaders in Christ. Implements and manages a digital strategy for the Diocese of Orlando, Catholic Charities of Central Florida, and other offices and entities to include website, social media, app, and all electronic communications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Manages diocesan websites to ensure content is up to date, relevant, easy to navigate, responsive and interactive, and that they reflect diversity and enthusiasm for the faith. Current websites include Diocese of Orlando, Catholic Charities of Central Florida, Pathways to Care, Catholic Cemeteries of Central Florida, and St. James Cathedral.
Oversees website content managers, including training and development.
Monitors Google analytics to ensure innovative, effective and appropriate website performance.
Manages diocesan social media initiatives in cooperation with Media Development Manager to encourage engagement and education of the community. Social media accounts currently include Diocese of Orlando, Catholic Cemeteries of Central Florida, Catholic Charities of Central Florida, Pathways to Care, and St. James Cathedral (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter).
Maintains YouTube and Vimeo accounts for the Diocese of Orlando and Catholic Charities of Central Florida; utilizes each platform for sharing and promotion of mission and vision.
Helps facilitate formatting, posting and sharing of news articles, podcasts, and videos.
Maintains Diocese of Orlando Google Ad Grants for Nonprofit Organizations and designs/monitors innovative campaigns to increase audience.
Oversees Faith Fit App design/development and monitors Firebase analytics to ensure innovative, effective and appropriate performance.
Collaborates with Human Resources Secretariat and IT to manage Safe Environment Certification program, which is part of the Diocesan website and strives to continually improve the functionality.
Designs fliers and communications collateral for Diocese of Orlando, Catholic Charities of Central Florida, Pathways to Care, Catholic Cemeteries of Central Florida, and other Diocesan entities.
Designs and maintains various e-newsletters for diocesan entities including Bishop John Noonan’s E-scroll.
Works with Offices of Liturgy and Music to design and produce accurate and engaging worship aids for Diocesan events.
Oversees MailChimp distribution and mailing lists for the Diocese of Orlando, Catholic Charities of Central Florida, Catholic Cemeteries of Central Florida, and other offices and ministries. Makes recommendations on strategy and service enhancement.
Strategically initiates discussions about potential design/social media improvements/modifications to continue to address the growing needs of the 21st century Catholic.

. Requirements:
Practice of the Catholic faith is required. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the policies of the diocese. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Theology or related area and three to five years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with writing for various platforms, including print, video, podcasts, email, and experience with multi-tasking and juggling deadlines and priorities is needed.
Must have proficiency with technical/web skills to be able to create and publish content for the web. Good design skills helpful. Social media scheduling skills helpful. Photoshop, Word Press, Publisher and InDesign software knowledge helpful.
Knowledge of the Catholic Church and its teachings are required.
Bilingual in Spanish and English helpful.
