Description:
Good Shepherd Catholic School is seeking an Elementary (K-5) Florida Certified teacher for the 2023-2024 Academic school year. Applicants must hold or be eligible for a valid Florida Educators certification, be self-motivated and energetic. ESE & ESOL certified a plus. GSCS is seeking applicants with knowledge of State Standards, technology integration, and standard-based instruction. Experience in evaluating, documenting, and communicating individual student growth, differentiation strategies, classroom management and willingness to participate in professional development opportunities, a plus. Applicants must be comfortable in a Catholic faith-based setting with a dedication to the Good Shepherd Catholic School mission and beliefs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Organize and direct lessons and activities related to the standards
- Develop and document weekly lesson plans consistent with curriculum guidelines
- Provide grade-appropriate instructional program of engaging and interactive activities/lessons for elementary grade levels
- Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of Good Shepherd Catholic School and the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management
- Assess and document student progress
- Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students
- Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner
- Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration
- Integrate technology effectively into the classroom.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from an Accredited College or University;
- Current Florida Teaching Certificate;
- Teaching experience preferred;
- Previous experience in a Catholic school setting is preferred.
