St. Andrew Catholic School, located in Orlando, FL, has an opening for a highly qualified
Elementary Music teacher (General, Instrumental, Choir) for grades Pre-K4-8. The ideal candidate will be able to play the piano in order to accompany students during Mass, lead the school choir and organize choir performances at other school functions. Experience leading music for the Catholic Mass is preferred.
- Provide grade-appropriate instructional programs of engaging and interactive activities/lessons for both elementary and middle school grade levels.
- Maintain a high professional standard consistent with the mission of St. Andrew
Catholic School and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students.
- Be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and for classroom management
- Assess and document student progress.
- Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
- Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration.
- Work with church music director as a substitute and/or cantor for an additional stipend.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Music or Voice, Music Education or Elementary Education from an Accredited College or University.
- Current Florida Teaching Certificate or Letter of Eligibility in Music, (Grades K-12).
- Practicing Catholic preferred.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a Catholic school setting is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.46 - $23.00 per hour
