Description:
Plans, organizes, purchases inventory, and recruits volunteers to maintain and run a successful gift and book store offering Catholic items for parishioners and the general public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform accounts payable and receivable tasks for the proper recording of store finances.
Maintain and train on all cash control procedures.
Analyzes revenue and program cost data to determine budget priorities.
Analyzes customer participation, and changes in the congregation to determine purchasing needs.
Plan displays and purchases to attract customer attention and to encourage active use of Catholic materials.
Promote products specific to holidays and liturgical events and activities.
Confers with Clergy Members, and the Religious Education department regarding special requests for purchasing.
Develops supervises and recruits volunteer staff for gift store.
Contribute to the development of community faith formation by providing appropriate gift store content.
Purchasing of all products for the gift store, maintaining adequate inventory control, following Parish purchasing procedures and requirements.
Stock, clean (dust), and rotate shelves and products to ensure a professional-looking environment, and movement of product.
Directly develops, oversees, and organizes volunteers in the gift store, training and scheduling to ensure hours of operation are sufficiently covered. assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Operate store in accordance with the Churches policies and applicable laws.
Oversee that all cash handling procedures are strictly maintained and immediate appropriate reporting of any inconsistencies.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
Associates Degree in Accounting; or three years of related retail experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft 365, and advanced internet research ability.
