Full Job Description Description: Bishop Moore Catholic High School prepares students for life after high school by teaching them virtue and knowledge as they will need to be contributing members of society based on the Gospel message and Roman Catholic teaching. The Associate Athletic Director is responsible for assisting the Athletic Director with the development, management, coordination, and supervision of a competitive high school athletic program with 32 programs, more than 110 coaches, and more than 900 student-athletes. The Associate Athletic Director also (1) provides visionary leadership, strategic planning, and policy development for the athletics program; (2) assists in maintaining an athletics program that is committed to the school’s Catholic mission and strategic priorities; (3) provides supervision of assigned sports programs by the Athletic Director; (4) supervises and monitors the athletic budget for his/her assigned sports programs; and (5) ensures compliance with all school, Diocese of Orlando, and FHSAA policies, rules, and regulations. The Associate Athletic Director reports to the Athletic Director and the Principal (or designee of the Principal). Specific Duties: Department Management: Assists in the development and maintenance of an athletic program ingrained with BMC’s Catholic values and ideals. Assist administration with strategic planning for the future of the athletic program. Oversee, manage, and evaluate coaches and assistant coaches in assigned sports programs. Periodically review policies and procedures and recommend changes or additions as necessary. Explain, implement, and enforce school policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration. Budget Oversight: Manage the athletic budget of assigned sports programs by the Athletic Director. Ensure proper fiscal responsibility of athletic department staff under Associate AD supervision. Sports Oversight: Schedule games, practice, and facility use AND communicate these schedules to coaches regularly. Schedule transportation needs for assigned sports programs. Ensure that all equipment and supply needs are met. Work with coaches to schedule all necessary training. Assist Associate Director for Student Success with ensuring that all coaches have met school, diocesan, and FHSAA requirements for employment. Facilities: Assist Assistant Athletic Director - Facilities with the planning and assessment of the maintenance needs of BMC athletic facilities and fields. Facilities and Operations: Game management Camp management Requirements: The successful candidate will: Be a role model for ethical, moral, and Catholic principles. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a strong preference of a master’s degree in business, sport management, or education administration. Possess 3-5 years of experience in athletic leadership and management, preferred. Have experience coaching at the high school or collegiate level, preferred. Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus. Be a high-energy, self-starter with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in an atmosphere in which time-sensitive deadlines are the norm, as are interruptions. Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders of the school. Be available to work evenings and weekends when necessary. Employment is contingent on the applicant passing a full background check. Upon employment, the individual will be subject to a 90-day probationary period. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Environment: Work is performed primarily in an office, gymnasium, or athletic facility. Physical: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, lift, carry, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, see, hear, and use their hands for fine and gross motor functions. Hours: Twelve-month employee. This is a full-time, salaried exempt position. The salary range is commensurate with experience and education.
