PRIMARY DESCRIPTION

We are in search of an HR Generalist that will serve Northland Church, and the broader church of Jesus Christ, by working directly with the Human Resources Director to assist and support with a wide range of HR related projects. This will include, but is not limited to providing support throughout different areas of the employee lifecycle: recruiting, onboarding, training, records management, compliance and offboarding, etc.

Status: Independent Contractor - up to 25 hours/week

Lines of Accountability: Human Resources Director, Executive Pastor to the Lead Pastor

COMPETENCIES:

  • Supports the Human Resources Director with regular tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to creating and updating position job descriptions, benefits and leave management; performance and talent management; and creating employee and manager training programs.
  • Cross-train and create operating procedures for processing payroll with the current payroll system. Also act as a back-up to payroll processing as needed.
  • Datamine in our People Center (PCO) System to clean up records and information within the database. Create procedures to share with staff and administrators to ensure the system is utilized at maximum efficiency.
  • cleanup and getting everything updated from past years of improper and inadequate use
  • Assist with formalizing processes and procedures (creating forms, packets, policies for):

-Request to post job/recruiting/onboarding
-Employee Evaluation System/Process
-Create Master Job Description File

  • Researches and collects data for various HR initiatives.
  • Conducts audits of personnel files and assists with filings to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Must have the ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality, and the ability to establish excellent rapport with staff and the general public.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology or any related field is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience working in a HR/Office/Administrative environment, specifically with recruiting, process management, and benefits administration.
  • Familiarity or previous experience working with HRIS systems is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
