The Performing Arts allow children to develop creative passions, they simultaneously teach children language and communication skills, helping them to communicate effectively with others with confidence. Performing Arts are all about self-expression, exploring alternative options, and embracing individuality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

Allows students to participate, demonstrate, and observe in a "controlled," or non-threatening, environment.
Provides another "non-traditional" opportunity for students to learn and demonstrate learning.
Builds and maintains a successful Drama program within the school by providing an educational atmosphere conducive to learning and developing through the process of inquiry.
Supervises students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips.
Enforces administration policies and rules governing students.
Instructs and monitors students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage.
Presents subject matter to students using lectures, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods.
Observes students' performance, and records relevant data to assess progress.
Presents subject matter using lectures, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods.
Prepares lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations.
Organizes and supervises games and other recreational activities to promote physical, mental, and social development.
Attends staff meetings and serve on committees, as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Uses and refers to the Diocesan arts and music standards in the curriculum.
Develops trusting and effective relationships with all the students in the classes and their parents.
Establishes supportive, collaborative, and positive working relationships with all other members of staff.
Becomes a positive presence across the whole school and a representative of it within its wider community.

Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Related experience in similar position is preferred.

Organizational/Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required.

Language/Communication Skills:
The ability to communicate, listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
Strong command of both written and spoken English language.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift at least 15 pounds. Physical demands include balancing, carrying, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, stooping, talking and walking. Also includes the ability to see items close.
