POSITION DESCRIPTION: A champion at Kensington for the discipleship of children. Create, cultivate, and catalyze an engaging and fun atmosphere for kids, K - 5th grade to grow spiritually. This position works with the Family Ministry team to execute the vision of family ministry at the elementary level.
CHARACTER: Demonstrate the qualities of a follower of Jesus Christ, with a passion to love God, live in authentic community with those in the body of Christ, and extend the love of God to those seeking him. Show a strong commitment to living out Kensington’s values and beliefs in their Christian life.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Competence: Undergraduate degree in related field preferred. Training in leadership and management helpful. Proven ability to lead and develop leaders, build teams, cast vision, and communicate to children God’s grace and truth. Experience in Kids Ministry. Familiarity with Orange Curriculum
2.Chemistry: Has an affinity with Kensington Leadership, vision, the way we do church, who we are trying to reach and how we do team.
3.Character: Teachability, humility, moral/ethical integrity, the desire to grow spiritually. Must work extremely well with others.
4.Calling: Expresses and has confirmation of a desire and call to lead in kids ministry. Affirmation of the mission, values and beliefs of Kensington.
5.Requirements: Membership at Kensington Church Orlando. Background Check.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership: Lead KKids elementary volunteer team in a way that will create a warm, welcoming and energetic environment that is contagious for every child.
Team Management: Coordinate and communicate between teams, providing visionary and practical information regarding their role.
Sunday Point Leader: Serve as point person to elementary children’s ministry gatherings during weekends to provide answers and solutions for volunteers and guests.
Leadership Development: Develop a process for the connection, recruitment, training, development and deployment of leaders at every level in their walk with Jesus.
Creative Programming: Plan and execute creative programming for elementary students using Orange Curriculum and Philosophy. This includes developing a team of creative programmers, teachers and technical support needed to reach a level of excellence within the large group setting.
Small Group/Curriculum Development: Plan and execute small groups and curriculum for elementary students using the orange curriculum. This includes developing a team of small group leaders, keeping student to leader ratios within the Kensington guidelines and training leaders to provide an excellent small group experience.
Environments: Create environments of excellence. Manage and oversee the operation of children’s ministry welcome center, including the organization of volunteers, name badges and the newcomer experience. Manage safety within the exterior and classroom spaces, ensuring all volunteers understand and adhere to published policies.
Parent Connection: Plan and execute appropriate parent materials that will allow families to continue to the weekend discussion throughout the week. Support parents as needed, helping them spiritually guide their children. Oversee children’s baptism classes and registrations.
Ministry Team Leadership: Provide direct leadership for elementary ministries. Participate in staff meetings and events as required.

Pay: $25,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
