As our kitchen assistant, you will be essential in providing our students with excellent meals and service.
While your primary roles include washing dishes and keeping the kitchen clean, you'll gain valuable experience helping us prepare meals.
You won't have to worry about late-night hours. This position offers a family-friendly schedule - Weekends off, and during the week, you will usually be finished by 2:00 daily.
Your responsibilities:
Assist in the daily food preparation, service, delivery, and clean-up.
- Setting up & cleaning the dish machine area; check temperatures & soap dispensing levels
- Assisting in maintaining preparation and service areas in a sanitary condition
- Some delivery and pick up of dirty dishes from classrooms
- Emptying garbage and moving trash to dump site
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One year of experience in the kitchen (preferred...but we will train)
- Knowledge of safety precautions standard in the food service trade, including hygiene and sanitary precautions
- Because we are a Child Care center, you must be able to pass an extensive background check
- Continuous contact with Food Service Manager, General Manager, & Administrative Staff
- Ability to perform under pressure
Working conditions:
- Noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud
- Temperature in Kitchen will get warm
- Considerable time on feet each day
Physical requirements:
- Required to be able to reach with hands and arms, talking, hear, use fingers and hands, and operate objects or tools
- You will be on your feet most of your time each day.
- Regular requirement to stand, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Frequently required to lift and or move up to 80 pounds
- Must recognize hot/cold/sharp objects and use appropriate protection to avoid injury
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
