Annunciation Church is looking for a Part-Time Security position (Mainly Weekends) that will be directly responsible to the Facilities Director and Security Officer Lead. Security provides a safe and secure environment for parishioners, employees and visitors to the campus. Our campus is extensive, it includes buildings and parking areas of the church, school, rectory, and other facilities. Dependent on schedule this position will provide either morning, afternoon, or evening security for parish facilities and grounds.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patrol grounds and assist in monitoring the departure of visitors and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
- Patrol commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Coordination of opening & Closing/Lock Up of facilities for meetings and day to day activities.
- Assisting with traffic control during dismissal of school and religious education classes.
- Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Answer alarms, respond to alarm notifications, and investigate disturbances.
- Provide a presence when parishioners, staff and guest visit the campus.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Florida Security D License, a plus but not required (If not currently Licensed, training will be available upon Hiring).
- Security Guard/ Law enforcement experience a plus but not required.
Organizational/Interpersonal/Communication Skills:
- Sound organizational skills are required. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Strong teamwork skills required.
- Good verbal communication skills and excellent active listening skills.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and sit for long periods of time, walk, bend, crouch, talk, feel, grasp, hear, run, and perform repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and arms. Job incumbent also required to read/see up close and details from afar.
- Work is performed both inside and outside of a commercial/office environment, exposed to weather at times.
- Frequent face-to-face discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Must be able to pass the fingerprinting process.
