We are seeking Upper School Teachers to join our team! You will educate students from 6th to 8th grades in one specific subjects.
We currently have three vacancies in the areas of History, Science and Language arts. The candidates applying must be qualified to teach at the high school level in their corresponding subjects. For example the upper school science instructor will be teaching Life Science, Biology, Earth Science, Physical Science and Physics.
Azalea Park Baptist School is the oldest private Christian school in Orlando established 1956. The current student population is 200 with classroom sizes averaging 12 students. The candidate applying must have a minimum of a four year degree (no teaching license is required); but spiritual maturity is essential.
APBS is a ministry of the Christian church Azalea Park Church. Leaders of the church will ensue candidates have a solid Christian background, and can uphold the vision of the organization not only as teachers but mentors to the students. Teachers must willing to be participate in the sponsoring church events and share the vision and mission.
Other Responsibilities:
- Manage and educate students in a classroom setting
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans
- Adhere to established teaching curriculum
- Maintain positive relationships with students and parents
- Document and share student grades and evaluations
- Maintain the health and safety of all students
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in teaching or other educational fields
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to build rapport with students
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership qualities
- 4 year college degree preferably in economics, finance or math
