Overall Responsibilities

The Worship Services Director (WSD) works in concert with the Lead Pastor, Executive Pastor, Executive Ministry Director, and service-related ministry team leads to create an impactful worship experience. The Worship Services Director casts vision for the ministries under their direction. The overall responsibility of the WSD is to be the full-service coordinator of all worship services as follows: weekend services, prayer services, weekday or mid-week services, special services such as Anniversary, Resurrection, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve.

LIST OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Arrive early and be prepared for all worship services, pre-service huddles, and scheduled meetings/rehearsals; ensure the building is shutdown and closed properly
  • Organize and lead pre-service Huddle
  • Work with the Pastoral team to ensure all services are planned and executed
  • Oversee all aspects of weekend services including the following: volunteer management, service itinerary planning, service creative elements, service production requirements, and facility requests
  • Confirm and oversee attendance tracking during service attendance among congregation and Dream Teams under supervision
  • Oversee and facilitate weekly pre-service planning meetings to create proactive strategies for a successful service. Identify potential service gaps and troubleshoot prior service-flow challenges
  • Oversee pre-service run-through with Event Floor Director for every service
  • Collaborate with Guest Experience Director to oversee the execution of first-time guests and new to salvation reception with Associate Pastor
  • Oversee the execution of baptism ceremonies with Campus Pastor, Executive Ministry Director, and Member Care Director
  • Access and follow up weekly with specific groups in Text In Church® or PCO Groups®, as required, to properly communicate upcoming events and pertinent group information
  • Weekly send text reminders through Text In Church® of service times with links to YouTube, Facebook, and TKCI website
  • Oversee and verify that all worship service events have adequate ministry team member coverage under your supervision that are needed for service or event
  • Identify issues and gaps with service flows and experience both in-house and online
  • Oversee the recruitment, on-boarding, and training of volunteers for teams under your supervision
  • Verify the event plan and the volunteer assignments have been issued within PCO SERVICES® at least one month in advance. Follow-up with team leads if not completed
  • Ensure that Production Director and Production team have been informed of all required elements necessary for worship services and events
  • Confirm with the Executive Ministry Director and Executive Pastor that all events are setup within PCO SERVICES® and PCO CALENDAR® at least two months in advance
  • Meet with direct supervisor weekly to discuss tasks, upcoming projects, support, and resources needed
  • Attend Full Leadership and Ministry Team meetings, trainings, and conferences
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and staff devotions, monthly meeting with Lead Pastor
  • Attend staff trainings
  • Weekly check-in with part-time and full-time staff under supervision on tasks, needed support or resources
  • Approve timesheets and PTO requests for those under supervision
  • Ensure that each team lead under your supervision maintains at least bi-monthly team meetings
  • Ensure that each team lead under your supervision maintains quarterly Best Practices and development training
  • Ensure that each team lead under your supervision maintain current team member contact information within PCO GROUPS®
  • Verify that each team lead under your supervision provides and maintains its procedures and performs services accordingly.
  • Oversee each team leader’s responsibility to ensure that their team members complete routine service-related tasks and responsibilities.
  • Provide coaching, evaluation, mentoring, and training for all team leads under your supervision
  • Obtain annual year-end team reports for issuance to the Executive Ministry Director (Accomplishments, Active Members, Concerns & Goals) by December 1st.
  • Maintain the approved annual budget issued by following the TKC Procurement Process will purchasing items needed for teams under supervision

SERVICE PREPARATION AND PLANNING

Step # 1 Planning Phase (Vision): (2-3 months prior minimum)

  • Determine milestones and meeting dates on the timeline
  • Schedule monthly planning meeting with the Lead Pastor, Executive Pastor, Executive Ministry Director in efforts to obtain vision specifics for services and events for the upcoming 2 months.
  • Submit marketing and video production requests for promotional items needed; confer with Marketing Team about most appropriate and effective way to promote service event
  • Schedule creative team and production meeting.

Step #2 Planning Phase (Creative): (2 months prior minimum)

  • Be present at all creative and production meetings
  • Be sure to invite leads that will be helping to execute the project.
  • Create Planning Center Services Plans for a place for notes and ideas
  • Collect any presentation resources
  • Start collecting budget numbers
  • Update Executive Ministry Director (EMD) weekly of any gaps, issues, or challenges requiring executive attention or input
  • Provide Executive Ministry Director, Campus Pastor, and Executive Pastor monthly updates on team progress
  • Schedule any meetings needed to execute planning phase tasks

Step #3 Preparation Phase (Execution): (1-2 months prior minimum)

  • Help determine meeting dates between teams and locations
  • Plan logistics meetings between all teams involved to finalize plans
  • Give updates to all teams involved to find holes and create solutions.
  • Create Planning Center Services Plans for Teams and attach communication templates for locations to use
  • Be available during the event to connect teams and relay any game-time information or changes

Step #4 Review Phase (Debrief): (within 1 month post maximum)

  • Collect all data and format in a visual for debrief meeting and present to the Executive Ministry Director, Campus Pastor, and Executive Pastor
  • Send Leader Review Form for the event (if needed)
  • Collaborate with the EMD to schedule the Review Meeting date and agenda, then take notes during the meeting
  • Reconcile and finalize the event costs. Communicate findings with the EMD
  • Finalize Timelines and Planners; Archive them accordingly
  • Prep the Timeline (using phases) for the following year’s events on the TKC calendar
  • When requested, provide feedback to Lead Pastor or other speakers on their sermon manuscripts in advance of Sunday

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theological Studies, Divinity, Pastoral Ministry, Organizational, Education, or Christian Leadership, Business, or Management (preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Minimum of three years of church leadership experience (preferred)
  • High-quality communication skills with multiple audiences, including staff, volunteers, members, vendors, contractors, and colleagues
  • Possesses personality, temperament, and interpersonal skills to relate and serve effectively within a multi-generational congregation setting
  • Exhibit evidence of Christian character and servant leadership as stated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4 in work environment as well as in home/family setting
  • Give evidence of a spiritually balanced life (prayer, bible study, rest, worship, financial stewardship)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
