WEST CATHOLIC PREPARATORY HIGH SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT

West Catholic Preparatory High School is a Catholic community of academic excellence in an urban environment that is open to an interdenominational population. Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Duties)
 

  • Prepare, coordinate, and manage the school activities program with the assistance of the activity and club moderators in consultation with the President and Principal, for example, clubs, dances, proms, programs, student fund raising drives, baccalaureate and graduation exercises, Ring Ceremony, School & senior Portraits, etc.
  • Collect registration information for all clubs and activities
  • Cooperate with the Principal and President and Campus Minister in integrating the Catholic Faith and culture into the school's entire program.
  • Coordinate the Student Council, with the assistance of the faculty moderators.
  • Coordinate the school athletic program with the assistance of the Assistant Athletic Director and coaches, in consultation with the Principal and President Insure adherence to, and enforcement of, all PIAA rules and regulations
  • Prepare and distribute homeroom materials, daily announcements
  • Prepare the monthly and yearly calendars in consultation with the other administrators
  • Register and schedule all school activities, assemblies and use of the auditorium and gymnasium.
  • Supervise all athletic staff including shared responsibility for hiring, discipline or firing decisions and full responsibility for training, mentoring and evaluating coaches and athletic staff.
  • Assign and coordinate seating and supervise student behavior in cafeteria and auditorium
  • Supervise and manage the sales of school store.
  • Coordinate bus transportation for school sports and school activities
  • Inform the Principal of discipline concerns, school problems, and emergencies.
  • Supervise the Health Office and oversee the procedure for sending students home from this office. Prepares all reports as required for the Office of Catholic Education
  • Coordinate the Home and School Association
  • Assist in Planning, practicing and supervising the safe evacuation or confinement of all school personnel in the event of an emergency.
  • Approve all signs and posters for display in public areas of the school
  • Administer the expenditure of funds for student activities
  • Participate in the evaluation and coaching of teachers, Attend and evaluate coaches during game and practice conditions.
  • Supervise and manage the staff of the Office of the Assistant Principal of Student Life
  • Assume responsibilities delegated by the Principal or President.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
 

  • Master’s Degree in Education or Education related field.
  • Two years of successful teaching or coaching experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work productively and positively with staff, parents, and community.
 

  • Strong motivational skills.
  • Ability to promote an environment which, fosters high expectations for students, staff, and self.
  • Ability to monitor student progress and promote student achievement for all students.
  • Successful participation in staff and curriculum development activities.
  • Previous administrative experience.
