Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely in a trusting relationship with the Rector of St. Paul’s, the Rev. Eric P. Hungerford
- Regular participation in the sacramental life of the parish
o Sunday Eucharists
o Preaching at least once per month
o Officiating at Evensongs and other Special Services
- Regular participation in the pastoral life of the Parish
o Share “On-Call” Pastoral Care Emergency Duties with the Rector
o Share Pastoral Visit Duties with the Rector
- Oversee Parish Life
o Nourish the Spiritual Lives of the Young People and Families at St. Paul’s
o Oversee CYF (Children, Youth, and Family) Ministries of the Parish – which include but are not limited to:
Godly Play Program
SPY (St. Paul’s Youth)
Assist with Chorister and Cherub Choir Rehearsal Night
“Parent’s Exchange” (A parent sharing forum on Sunday mornings)
o Help to Vision, Spearhead, Organize Community Events that open our campus up to our neighborhood, such as:
Seasonal Festivals
Film Series & Discussions
Live Music Events
o Help to Support and Underscore the Existing Diversity of the Congregation and help the congregation to grow in diversity
o Help to build a program/curriculum for Middle School and High School-aged members of the community
o Help to Foster and Support new ideas to engage children, youth, and families in their faith Journeys.
- Oversee Outreach
o Interface on a regular basis with the Outreach committee of St. Paul’s
o Support on-going outreach relationships and Initiatives, strengthen relationships with Community Partners, and identify new opportunities for collaboration
Face to Face Germantown
Interfaith Hospitality Network
o Increase number of Parishioners engaged in Outreach
o Reimagine Relationship with Diocese of North Dakota and possibly help to lead pilgrimages there. (St. Paul’s has a historical relationship with congregations on Standing Rock and the Dakotas going back to the 19th Century)
o Help to build new outreach initiatives
For example: After School Program for Neighborhood Children
- Homework Help/Musical Education
o Help to move St. Paul’s toward being a more “missionally focused” congregation
Working to coordinate more events and activities outside the four walls of the church
Helping St. Paul’s to be known and recognized in the community and neighborhood as a place of radical welcome.
