Church Administrative Assistant

Reports to: Director of Operations
FLSA Classification: Full time, Non-exempt (hourly)

The Church Administrative Assistant works with operational and ministerial leadership to manage the clerical, technical, and general administrative functions of the church. The ideal candidate must be proactive, efficient, and comfortable with taking the initiative as a key member of the team. The ability to multi-task while maintaining high level of professionalism is critical to the success of this position.

Hours & Travel: Mondays: Remote (Noon – 5:00 PM)
Tuesdays-Fridays: In Office (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
Evenings: Rare but occasionally required, with notice
Weekends: Rare but occasionally required, with notice
Travel: Rare but occasionally required, with notice

Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compose and post online content to Social Media accounts across Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram,

Facebook, and WhatsApp, among others.

  • Utilization of analytics techniques to gather important data (social media, email campaigns, blog, web analytics, etc.)
  • Periodic updates to church website content as needed.
  • Operation of office hardware (phones, copiers, postage machine, folding machine, etc.)
  • Filing and preparing paperwork, business letters, and other correspondence
  • Interaction with vendors and contractors
  • Ordering and maintenance of office supplies and equipment.
  • Organization and maintenance of church calendar.
  • Coordinate scheduling for weddings, funerals, and baptisms.
  • Preparation of weekly bulletins and other congregational correspondence.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual church-wide reports.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for speaking engagements.
  • Maintain and up-date all standard forms including business and ministry literature.
  • All other tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of college or equivalent work-related experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years-experience as an Administrative Assistant in a high-productivity environment.
  • Minimum typing 50 WPM with accuracy and transcribing experience.
  • Intermediate productivity software skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of relevant marketing tools and social media applications such as (Facebook,

Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, WhatsApp, Google Analytics, etc.)

  • Proficiency in the use of standard office tools (computers, copy machines, etc.).
  • Fluency in and excellent command of English composition and punctuation.
  • Reliable private transportation
  • Pre-employment drug and background screening
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History screening

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs
  • Must be able to move about to accomplish tasks at different workstations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
