Bridge of Hope is seeking an experienced, committed, and well-connected Church Engagement and Housing Director in Chester County, PA. This role is integral to our mission of engaging Christian faith communities in ending family homelessness through Neighboring relationships that demonstrate Christ’s love. The director will work to engage churches in Chester County to provide Neighboring Volunteers to walk with families as well as financial and other volunteer support. This director will also build partnerships with community landlords and housing providers to bring affordable housing opportunities to families. We aspire to connect every family with Neighboring Volunteers and to move every family into permanent housing within 60 days of starting services. The role includes collaboration, presenting, and training of volunteers. The Church Engagement and Housing Director works closely with the Program Director to match local churches with families receiving services, identify housing opportunities for families, and to support Neighboring Volunteers in their roles.
What a successful candidate will need:
Experience and Qualifications:
1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; ideal candidate would have a seminary or social work degree.
2. Strong connections with churches in the region and ecumenical work across Christian faith communities.
3. Strong interpersonal and group training skills.
4. Strong communication skills, written and oral.
5. A passion for and a commitment to the mission of Bridge of Hope:
To engage Christian faith communities in ending family homelessness through neighboring relationships that demonstrate Christ’s love.
6. Ability to build positive relationships with churches and other Christian faith communities on behalf of Bridge of Hope, fostering their excitement and engagement in the mission of Bridge of Hope, from financial support to Neighboring Volunteer engagement and one-time opportunities.
7. Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with community landlords and housing providers to promote housing access for families.
8. Active member of a Christian faith community that confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, with a strong personal faith experience.
- Proficient in computer technology, including Microsoft Office products, Zoom, and able to work with database.
10. Position requires a valid driver’s license and availability of a vehicle.
11. Ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in multi-cultural settings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
