KITCHEN COOK
St. John's Hospice
Responsibilities:
Food preparation, service and clean-up. Prepares and organizes all meals. Fully comprehends, articulates and reflects in job performance the mission and philosophy of St. John's Hospice.
Preparing and/or organizing all meals.
Cleaning and organizing kitchen and storage areas.
Willing to be flexible with work schedule, when needed.
Must remain professional at all times
Clean up after cooking and serving of meals
Able to assist with food inventories each week/month
Assist kitchen coordinator with the ordering and stocking of the refrigerators, freezers, and food pantries.
Ability to use meat slicer and other kitchen appliances needed for preparing meals
Ability to follow weekly meal schedule
Prep and prepare food for weekend staff to cook including, properly defrosting of food and labeling each meal.
Skills Required
Knowledge/experience in food preparation for large groups
Knowledge/experience with maintaining food and kitchen supplies inventories
Capable of lifting 25 pounds.
Capable of preparing a variety of ethnic foods
Qualifications
High school degree or equivalent
Safe Serve certification
Supervision
Supervision from kitchen coordinator.
