Coordinator of Religious Education (Part-time)
The Coordinator of Religious Education is a professional catechetical leader who reports to the pastor. The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and in good standing with the Church.
The candidate should also have excellent communication, organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills. The candidate must have all Safe Environment training and background clearances as required
The responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Parish Religious Education Program (PREP)
oversee directly and coordinate the faith formation for approximately 50 parish children who do not attend Catholic School (Grade 1 to Confirmation)
include and/or make accommodations for children with intellectual, emotional and/or physical disabilities
recruit and oversee catechists; provide spiritual and professional formation
work with PREP families
Sacramental Preparation:
work closely with the pastor and school principal in preparing parish children for First Penance, First Communion and Confirmation; schedule and oversee parent meetings as well as candidates' retreats
create catechetical plans for:
Catholic children who are not in typical paths for sacraments
unbaptized children or baptized in another Christian faith.
Education/Professional Experience:
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience in teaching or administration preferred.
