Position Characteristics:
This is a responsible position. All work requires high levels of accountability and responsibility. Tact, discretion, and initiative are requisite. Skills are performed at a high relative level. Chance for error and consequences thereof are high.

Duties and Responsibilities:
This staff person will work closely and with others in the school and summer meals team as well as site staff. Specific duties will vary throughout the calendar year based on the deadline and work flow of NSLP and SSO. Major areas of responsibilities are:

Eligibility:
This includes all task related to child specific eligibility at the 100+ school sites NDS sponsors. It includes access to private information so discretion and confidentiality are extremely important.

Inventory Management and Other Reports

This includes a variety of tasks related to the functioning of the Data Management departments such as, receiving and analyzing data. Monitors, identifies, and resolves problems related to daily meal counts from Online Reporting vs PrimeroEdge of Service.

Residential Child Care Program

This includes a variety of activities related to student eligibility, site reports, and monthly/yearly sponsor reports.

Summer Reports

This includes double checking and entering into Access daily summer meals reports received from sites. Checking the data for correctness. Processing monitor reports and problem slips affecting the claim.

Claim Preparation

This includes assisting in all tasks related to claim preparation for all NSLP funded programs (NSLP/NSBPO,RCCI,SSO,SM).

School and Summer Site Support

This includes answering the phone, taking food orders, assisting sites with day to day problems, supporting schools in operating PrimeroEdge, running reports to determine site compliance, and visiting sites to provide additional support or training.

Training

This includes participating in large group and individualized training as well as assisting in preparing training materials in all matters to the Data Management Department.

General
 

  • Performs any other task as assigned by Administrator, NSLP
  • Assure the appropriate use of NDS property
  • Responsible for knowledge of and compliance with applicable:

NDS policies, guidelines, and regulations

Secretariat and Archdiocesan policies, guidelines, and regulations
 

  • Complete detail oriented task under strict deadlines
  • Provide feedback to other staff regarding site compliance and problems.

Representative knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Have a thorough knowledge of applicable program related federal and state regulations.
  • Have a general understanding of summer site operations.
  • Be able to communicate and train those with limited educational levels and abilities.
  • Be able to relate well with persons of different racial, ethic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Be computer proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Literate in Access.
  • Possess excellent verbal communication and professional writing skills
  • Possess excellent math skills.
  • Be detail oriented with a number aptitude.
  • Have ability to analyze data, possess critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Have public speaking skills

Other Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree-Accounting or Math preferred
  • Be able to climb stairs
  • Be able to lift and carry 30lbs boxes
  • Valid drivers license and a reliable personal vehicle
  • Second language a plus
  • Maintain current ServSafe certificate and complete required annual trainings as assigned
