PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The part time server is responsible for serving dinner and dessert to approximately 38 elderly residents. After serving the food from the steam table, she or he cleans up the serving area and kitchen including stove, oven, floor, steam table, dishes, dish room, all pots and pans and utensils. Clean dining room. Menus are planned but input is welcome.


Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 3:00pm to 7:00pm

Saturday, Sunday 3:00pm to 3:00pm


SUPERVISED BY: Assistant Program Director

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up ice tea, water, butter on each table.
  • Serve dinner and dessert to approximately 38 elderly residents.
  • Clean up kitchen, steam table, including floors
  • Wash dishes and put them away
  • Clean all pots and pans and utensils
  • Clean all counters, tables, floors in kitchen and dish room.
  • Every Thursday: put recycling cans out on the street. Call 311 if there is a holiday to find out pick up day.
  • Willingness to substitute when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned


REPRESENTATIVE KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Good people skills, work ethic, organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
  • Cooking skills/ experience.
  • Ability to follow recipes.
  • Able to work efficiently without supervision.
  • Safe Serve certification preferred but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School graduate.

Ability to:

  • follow directions thoroughly.
