Education

  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in the humanities.
  • Engaged in ongoing education in some aspect of pastoral, spiritual, psychological, ecclesiastical, or management practice.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Hispanic parish or diocesan ministry.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in administrative work such as, translations, taking registrations and other paperwork.
  • Preferred: Experience in supervising paid staff and volunteers.

Skills & Abilities

  • Practicing faithful Catholic.
  • Strong bilingual oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong social skills - ability to reach out and integrate with Hispanic community of all ages, and work with the Director of Youth to attract Hispanic youth to youth programs.
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational, communication, computer, time management and interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to take direction from superior while establishing and maintaining good relationships with staff, colleagues, and volunteers.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite as well as e-communications such as social media, emailing, texting, and other online applications.
  • Experience in planning and managing events from conceptualization to production.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and administer programs and related budgets.
  • Preferred: experience in fundraising activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with parish staff and leadership in providing leadership to the parish.
  • Interface with other directors and leaders of the Parish, to collaborate on events and initiatives where ministries and audiences overlap.
  • Manage the social media account, Hispanic Ministry parish bulletin page, and Hispanic Ministry Flocknote communications.
  • Actively promote, develop, and apply priorities and directions stated in the Parish Mission Statement, specifically focusing on:
    • Increasing the number of people participating in parish life at OLG through sacramental preparation, liturgy, spirituality, and adult faith formation,
    • Host events, workshops, and trainings in evangelization.
    • Engage with Hispanic Catholics to prepare for, and participate in, the sacraments through culturally appropriate opportunities (e.g., QuinceaƱera celebrations, training for godparents, etc.),
    • Create and maintain a directory of resources in Bucks County, and refer Hispanic Catholics as needed to various social services in the community.
