Summary of Responsibilities: Support and assist the Pastor, Pastoral Staff and other parish leaders in the planning, coordination and implementation of parish programs, initiatives, seasonal and special events and related activities helping to ensure that the mission and vision of the parish are being met. Act as liaison to and collaborate with volunteers who help maintain the life of the parish in their roles as missionary disciples. The ideal candidate will be dynamic and energetic with a demonstrated ability to work with little oversight/direction while handling and maintaining confidential information and exercising discretion/discernment in handling related parish matters at all times. The role requires a high degree of initiative, professionalism, organization, and communication skills working within a Catholic community. This is a full time position with benefits that include some evenings and an occasional weekend.


Position Duties:

  • Acts as liaison between the Pastor and pastoral ministries and parish organizations to provide support, vision and oversight.
  • Collaborates with the Principal, DRE, CYO AD and parish staff to ensure good order in the life of the Parish.
  • Coordinates use and scheduling of facilities for all ministries and parish activities.
  • Coordinates and supports volunteers for parish ministries and organizations.
  • Arranges, plans and coordinates meetings as requested.
  • Collaborates with the Communications Director in administering social media and digital communications to the parish.
  • Serves as a member of the Parish Staff, Pastoral Council, and Liturgy Team.
  • Provides leadership and direction for areas of activity and special projects assigned by the Pastor.

 

Qualifications:

  • A practicing Catholic with an active faith life
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented ability to work autonomously without extensive oversight or direction
  • Ability to work with others in a friendly, positive and collaborative style
  • Proficiency in computer use of Microsoft Office, Gmail, and ability to learn other software applications
  • Self-starter with enthusiasm, flexibility, and motivation
  • Ability to develop and administer special programs to meet determined goals such as a seasonal Parish Mission or adult faith formation events
  • Good leadership skills, namely: maintaining confidentiality, facilitating with understanding, exercising a supportive attitude, active listening, and exercising good oral and written communication with a project management mindset as a team player
  • Ability to recruit and facilitate volunteer teamwork
  • Flexible schedule to include some evenings or an occasional weekend
  • Meet Safe Environment qualifications
