St. John Neumann Parish, Bryn Mawr, PA Director of Religious Education.
The Parish of St. John Neumann in Bryn Mawr, PA is seeking a Director of Religious Education.
The Director of Religious Education is a part-time position. Some evenings and weekends are required in addition to an intensive one-week summer PREP program.

General Description: 
The Director of Religious Education is a leader who assists adults, adolescents and children of the parish in their faith formation. The DRE is a practicing Catholic in good standing with theChurch. The DRE must accept and be committed to the teachings of the Catholic Church as they are promulgated in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia under the authority of the Archbishop of Philadelphia.

Requirements Requires an educational or experiential background in Theology/Religious Education (or related field).
Candidate must be self-motivated, comfortable in a self-directed work environment, possess creativity, strong verbal and written communication skills, and strong technology skills.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
Religious Education
1. Oversee and direct the development of the Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) from Kindergarten through Grade 7. Create and schedule the annual program calendar 2. Interact with and maintain open communication with Pastor, SCJN School principal and faculty as needed.
3. Recruit, train and supervise catechists and other volunteers; encourage catechists to obtain Catechetical Certification; conduct meetings as needed.
4. Oversee the financial records for the Parish Religious Education Program and establish program fees in conjunction with pastor and parish business manager.
5. Maintain digital records for the Parish Religious Education Program.
6. Implement annual Safe Environment Program protocols with the Safe Environment Coordinator. Conduct annual age-appropriate Kid Talk lessons; obtain supporting documentation. Complete audit for Office of Youth and Child Protection.
7. Facilitate the Children's Liturgy of the Word Program.
8. Interface with publishers and vendors to procure materials for the PREP program.
9. Participate as member in Archdiocesan and local PD/CARE (Parish Directors/Coordinators
10. Attend Liturgical Committee meetings when appropriate; willingness to participate in SJN Parish committees, in liturgical celebrations and events. Participate as a Communion Minister in monthly SCJN School liturgies.

Sacramental Preparation:
1. Under the guidance of the Pastor, oversee and direct all sacramental preparation for First Penance, First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
2. Facilitate retreats and event details related to liturgical celebrations.

 Technology Skills:
1. Exhibits competence with electronic platforms including Mail Chimp, SignUpGenius, and Zoom, or similar remote educational tool. Familiar with Microsoft Office products.
2. Computer proficiency including the ability to develop digital databases, files and newsletters.
