Job Description:
We are looking for a Director of Youth and Families to join our leadership team. This is a unique position where the qualified candidate will have the opportunity to experience multiple areas of ministry, with the two primary areas being youth ministry (6th-12th grade), and outreach to young families and singles. Building up a community of peers who then work side by side with you in Youth Ministry will be one of the many exciting challenges of this position.
Qualifications:

- Has a deep, mature, personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- Has demonstrated experience and skills in Youth Ministry (in paid or volunteer roles)
- Has demonstrated the skills of building groups, discipling others, and leading well
- Has an entrepreneurial spirit, and is willing to start small, dream big, take risks, and try new things for the sake of the Kingdom of God
- Is an outgoing teambuilder who loves people and being with people
- Is a dependable, teachable self-starter who takes initiative, follows through, and is committed to professional growth.
- Is proficient in computer skills. Experience in social media, digital marketing, video editing, and website design preferred
- Is in agreement with Leverington Church’s Statement of Faith and its ‘Expectations for Leaders.’
Responsibilities
- Minister directly to grades 6-12 and their parents – helping them develop relationships within the church family and to grow in their discipleship to Jesus Christ. Design, implement and oversee a Sunday morning program for grades 6-12, and design, implement and oversee Youth Group activities during the week.
- Minister directly to young couples and singles – helping them develop relationships within the church family and grow in their discipleship to Jesus Christ. Coordinate with the Elder of Small Groups and the Elder of Missions, working specifically to incorporate young couples and singles into our small group and mission opportunities. The Director will recruit for and lead a small group of their peers.
- Work with the team overseeing family ministries (Nursery, Grade School, Youth, Young Families and Singles, Adult ministries) providing support and coordination to these ministries.
- Coordinate with the Director of Outreach to reach out to and share the gospel with unchurched youth and young professionals in the community, looking for ways to welcome them into the household of God.
- Participate in the full life of the church as a member of our worshipping community
- Communicate with the church and the larger community utilizing the church website, email and social media
