JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Facilities Director is responsible for performing and managing various custodial, housekeeping, maintenance, and construction duties for the Church, Friary, and other buildings and parish grounds at the direction and under the supervision of the Pastor of the Church. The individual is also responsible for dealing with vendors, contractors, parishioners, other employees, tenants, and representatives as well as managing volunteer service groups and projects.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
The requirements listed below are not all inclusive but are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job satisfactorily:
* Working Knowledge of Basic Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, and Masonry
* Able to perform monthly Building Safety Inspections and complete reports
* Able to establish and maintain a professional image, positive attitude, and professional manner and relationship with co-workers, clients, and visitors.
* Possess cultural sensitivity and be able to relate well and effectively in a diverse workplace and with a diverse population.
* Familiarity with the Catholic Culture
* Able to Understand Budgets, obtain prices, and estimate costs.
* Able to attend monthly evening Parish Finance Committee Meetings
* Able to occasionally work at times as needed on Saturdays, Sundays, and/or holidays to assist with church related activities, projects, cleaning, and decorating.
* Be available for emergencies outside of normal working hours.
* Ability to have a flexible schedule if desired.
* Supervise cleaning and trash removal, may need to assist at time
* Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and the use of various cleaning supplies.
* Floor machine skills a plus but not required.
* Able to work productively at assigned tasks
* Able to obtain quotes/bids from vendors, specialty service/product companies
* Able to work with site contractors performing/engaged in contracted work
* Able to insure that OSHA safety standards and regulations are followed
* Possess good inter-personal and communication skills
* Comfortable working independently
* Self Motivated and able to complete tasks and responsibilities with little or no supervision
* Able to complete assignments within established time frames and work productively at assigned tasks whether working independently or as part of a group.
* Able to acclimate to changing tasks and priorities
* Able to lift and carry weighted material up to 50 lbs
* Able to lock and secure buildings as may be required
* Other miscellaneous duties as may be required.
* Able to Manage and Supervise Volunteer Service Groups on Projects
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of the is job the individual is regularly required to:
Stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, taste, and smell
Ability to climb, stoop, reach, walk, sit, or stand for long periods of time
Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
Reach with hands or arms,
Stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Lift or move up to 50 lbs.
Vision abilities include close visions, distant vision, color vision, and depth perception
Wear personal Protective Equipment when applicable
