MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:

Responsible for the cleanliness and working order of the building with the exception of resident rooms and the kitchen unless assigned. Responsible for reporting any maintenance deficiencies. Other duties as assigned.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean rooms when assigned, hallways, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker and storage rooms and other work areas
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers.
  • Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean smokers' areas, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
  • Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
  • Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
  • Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
  • Polish stainless steel accessories and metalwork such as appliances, fixtures and fittings.
  • Remove debris from grounds.
  • Replace light bulbs.
  • Replenish supplies such trash bags, and bathroom items.
  • Wash shower curtains every two weeks and rehang.
  • Wash mop heads and cleaning cloths weekly.
  • Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
  • Request repair services.
  • List needed supplies and submit a request.
  • Hang shades, and dust window blinds.
  • Move and arrange furniture, and turn mattresses; replace mattresses as needed.
  • Observe precautions required to protect property, and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors.

Job involves working:

QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate.

Knowledge of proper chemical handling.

Ability to:
