Salary and Grade: $18.74 per hour; Grade 76 Non Exempt

Position Description:
The Youth Ministries Coordinator (KYMC) will be responsible for the development and oversight of all youth ministries with the goal of youth becoming devoted followers of Jesus Christ. The KYMC is charged with the responsibility of growing youth ministries in meaningful ways. The KYMC will attend Sunday worship services, stay current with youth ministry practices by reading and attending youth leadership conferences.

Responsibilities:
Teach, lead and organize effective youth programs consistent with Salvation Army doctrine and practice. Implement fellowship, worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and evangelism as well as ministry and mission opportunities. Recruiting, training and supervising soldiers who will serve as volunteer leaders for multiple programs focused on outreach and discipleship for children, youth, teens and young adults in the Corps. Teach Bible study and small group meetings. Maintain contact with students; communicate effectively with parents regarding activity schedules. Provide counseling and spiritual direction to youth on an individual basis, as appropriate. Planning and leading youth retreats and annual Vacation Bible School programs. Promote the integration of youth ministry into all phases of church life to create a culture that is intentional intergenerational; striving to unite with and complement other church and RJKCCC ministries. Participate in the Kroc Summer Day Camp and After School programs with the focus of building relationships and drawing young people to the Corps. Develop/write curriculum, as needed and required. Create and execute a long-term vision plan for youth ministry. Transports youth to and from Camp Ladore.

Exhibit a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ; a passion for evangelism and outreach both personally and a ministry level. Must possess High School diploma or equivalent. Must demonstrate mature Christian character with a passion for mission and youth. Must have 1-2 years of progressive youth ministry leadership experience. Must possess developed relational/interpersonal skills. A Salvationist is preferred, but not required. Must be able to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing work environment and balance multiple tasks. Must be able to function effectively without supervision. Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English. Possess basic administrative skills which includes familiarity with Microsoft Office programs. Must be a team player and be able to work with varied ethnic and socio-economic populations Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends. Must possess the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Must have a valid Pennsylvania State Driver’s License and the ability to operate required fleet vehicle(s). As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse, meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 prior to employment, with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must have an understanding of, and appreciation for the Mission Statements of The Salvation Army and the RJKCCC.
