Overview
The Minister of Music will be a strong leader possessing a passion for traditional and contemporary worship, a vision for musical excellence, the ability to lead instrumentalists and vocalists, basic skills for playing the piano and keyboard and the ability to lead congregational singing. Through our worship, God will be praised and glorified, people will be connected with each other and the congregation will hear the proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ.
Qualifications:
- Must have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ
- The ability to read and play music
- The ability to direct congregational singing
- The ability to organize and lead choir and praise team
- A heart for personal and corporate worship of God
- A passion to involve and equip people for ministry
- A willingness to work with a team concept
- Lead music ministry during worship services, motivate congregational participation and provide direction to both choir members and musicians.
Responsibilities:
This individual will:
1. Work in concert with the pastor to develop and coordinate music for worship services
2. Lead and train the Praise Team or other ensemble.
4. Direct, involve and coordinate the video, sound and light technicians.
5. Select music for and lead congregational singing.
6. Schedule guest musicians.
7. Provide input into all events and services which require music.
8. Plan special programs for holiday services.
9. Assist with maintenance of the musical instruments.
10. Connect with other key ministries that serve at worship services, both internal and external ministries.
11. Arrange for a suitable substitute in the event of absence
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14,500.00 - $20,000.00 per year
