Hope Partnership for Education is an independent, non-profit organization founded and endorsed by the Society of the Holy Child Jesus and the Sisters of Mercy in June 2002. The mission of Hope Partnership for Education addresses the educational needs of children and adults from low-income families in Eastern North Philadelphia by offering services that include a middle school education (grades 5-8) and a support system that follows students through high school and adult education.

Position Title: Music Teacher
DLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Principal
Position Purpose: This part tipart-time of music teachers is to provide a safe and optimal learning environment where students can study key elements of general music theory and build vocal or instrumental skills to the best of their abilities.
Essential Functions:
- Plan and teach general music and instrumental lessons at multiple grade levels
- Plan and organize musical assemblies
- Maintain the equipment and facilities
- Keep projectthe the focused on teaching and learning within the context of real classrooms
- Models the integration of music in all curriculum areas
- Follow classroom routines and procedures to maintain appropran iate atmosphere for learning
- Adherence to school regulations related to attendance, punctuality, maintaining accurate records, communicating with families
- Participate in school events, professional growth and de,velopment opportunities
- Monitor students in the hallway when out of class
- Monitor students in lunch other om, gym and ha,always whenever needed
- Ability to teach and model conflict resolution skills
- Work with students in our Extended Day program
Qualifications:
- College degree in the appropriate field
- Have strong organizational and management skills
- Record of good attendance
- Ability to be flexible in an ever-changing environment
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Generally works in standard inner-city school climate
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, walk, see, and hear while being actively involved with the students in class
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
