Position: Operations Ministry Assistant (OMA)

Location/Dept.: The Salvation Army Kroc Center (SAKC), Philadelphia, PA

Availability: Immediate

Schedule: Full Time

Reporting Relationship: Operations Director

Salary Grade: $19.50 Per Hour Grade 77

Responsibilities:
The OMA will work in conjunction with the Operations Ministry Director (OMD) to provide support and oversight to all Operations departments and will work collaboratively with Kroc departments outside of Operations to assure the alignment of efforts in support of The Salvation Army mission and the Kroc Center vision. The OMA will assist in the development of programming and other services designed to enhance the Kroc member/guest experience, always ensuring that such services meet the financial needs of the center. The OMA will play an active role in managing outside vendor agreements. The OMA will work with leaders and staff in the Human Resources, Education, Hospitality, and Congregational Life sections to align Kroc services that result in high customer satisfaction levels. The OMA will assist the OMD in planning, organizing, and implementing operational procedures that maximize center success, as measured by financial sustainability, agreed/established program outcomes measures, and mission alliance.

Qualifications:
College degree in business or related field, Master’s Degree in business related field is preferred. At least 3 years of general business and operations management experience, with responsibility for profit/loss, financial and human capital in the service sector, preferably in the area of wellness and fitness center management. Ability to complete work in compliance with Salvation Army policy and procedures. Previous experience in working in a not-for-profit environment desirable. Willingness to learn and understand business/management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, principles and processes related to exemplary customer service; must be willing to engage in complex problem solving. Possess the ability to manage multiple projects through to completion. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with consistent emphasis on communicating with both internal and external customers in a professional, positive, and service-focused manner. Possess general knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, and Human Resource Information Systems. Possess general knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, marketing strategy and tactics, sales techniques, and sales control systems. Be willing and able to monitor and assess performance of oneself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements and/or take corrective action. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must understand and appreciate the mission of The Salvation Army.
