PARISH BUSINESS MANAGER
SAINT ROSE OF LIMA PARISH

Part-time: 16 hours per week
Job purpose
The purpose of the Parish Business Manager is to supervise the financial and temporal aspects of parish activities. This role also provides support and advice to the Pastor regarding financial management, parish staff, and general operations.
Duties and responsibilities
Includes, but not limited to:
- 
Financial
	- Supervise the accounting functions of the parish
- Prepare quarterly financial reports for presentation and review by the Pastor and Finance Council
- Maintain parishioners' contribution record
- Oversee the processing of payroll
- Maintain a strong system of internal controls
- Responsible for all areas of cash management
- Develop annual budgets
 
- 
Personnel
	- Maintain personnel records for all staff, obtaining and updating required documentation for necessary federal, state, and local taxes
- Handle employee benefit enrollment requests
- Update employee handbook, as needed
 
- 
Facilities
	- Supervise Maintenance Worker to:
		- Ensure compliance with Archdiocesan insurance requirements for contractors and non-parish organizations utilizing parish facilities
- Conduct ongoing inspections of grounds and buildings to ensure that the property is maintained in a safe and aesthetic manner

Other
	- Member of the Parish Financial Council
- Annual procedural audits
 
Qualifications
- 
Education
	- Minimum High School Diploma, Preferred B.A. degree in accounting or related field
 
- 
Skills
	- Strong organization skills
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks
- Displays high degree of accuracy and attention detail
- Database management
- Client service
 
- 
Abilities
	- Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
- Handle and prioritize a multitude of tasks to their completion
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
 
- 
Experience
	- Strong financial background and knowledge of accounting systems
- In good standing with the Catholic Church
 
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tool or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 30lbs.
