What you will do:
Resolve complex plan member inquiries and escalated retirement savings plan issues with a problem solving solution-driven member satisfaction focus.
Research, interpret and share accurate and complete Plan information by counseling members so they can make informed and timely choices about their benefits.
Administer benefits by processing distribution and hardship requests, source and contribution corrections, interest calculations, transfer requests, power of attorney, retirement application requests, SCP registration requests, and pension verifications and quotes.
Prepare 403(b) error, lost shareholders, and deceased shareholders reports to correct missing data, locate participant addresses, and process and payout an unclaimed balance in the RSP for deceased participants and their beneficiaries.
Manage the annual 402g (Return of Excess) project to ensure compliance with IRS annual contribution limits by the annual deadline each year.
What you need to succeed in the role:
2 years of experience in a benefits administration and/or benefits position with an understanding of Defined Benefits and Defined Contribution Plans.
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
An ability to produce accurate work time and provide excellent service to Members while functioning in a high production-oriented environment.
An ability to comprehend, interpret and communicate medical, benefits/insurance information in layperson's terms.
An ability to work as an effective team member.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
An ability to understand the special needs of Benefits Plan members and relate effectively over the telephone in a caring manner.
A strong desire to listen, identify issues, formulate alternatives, and make appropriate decisions.
An ability to effectively work remotely utilizing an uninterrupted internet connection, as required.
An ability, interest, and desire to stay current in defined benefits and defined contribution plans via seminars, industry literature, and formal training and development.
