Full Job Description
Job Title: Prayer and Penance Program Monitor
Reports to: Vicar for Clergy
Location: Villa Saint Joseph, 1436 Lansdowne Ave, Darby PA
Job purpose
Monitors the priests assigned to reside and participate in P+P to ensure public safety. Provides oversight of the priests' activities and whereabouts including absences from the campus, usage of computer and the internet.
Duties and responsibilities
 
- Investigates resident's off-campus activities, including random checks for compliance with approved absences.
- Monitors resident's use of and compliance with the swipe card entry-and-exit system.
- Monitors camera surveillance system.
- Investigates any omission from swipe card system and reconciles with camera surveillance records.
- Meets with support network members prior to approval of a resident's off-campus absence, and verifies whereabouts during absence.
- Maintains log of actions to verify resident schedule accuracy.
- Investigates and prepares a written report on overnight travel requests and violations of the Standards of Accountability.
- Performs weekly and monthly assessments of monitoring systems for the program. -Attends meetings as needed with the Office for Clergy and the Office for Investigations.
- Documents questionable behavior to the Program Coordinator, Office for Clergy, and Office of Investigations.
- Meets weekly with Program Coordinator to coordinate schedule and activities and to discuss any non-compliance with monitoring.
- Collects weekly scheduling data from residents, reviews for compliance, and provides to Office of Investigations; documents review and compliance; checks all schedule logs for accuracy.
- Maintains Program computer and electronic files.
- Attends Staff meetings. -Complies with and carries out policies as outlined in manual. -Complies with Archdiocesan policies and standards. -Flexible work hours at discretion of the Vicar for Clergy
Qualifications
Three or more years' experience in probation, parole, corrections or law enforcement.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Valid driver's license and personal vehicle.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Flexibility in scheduling.
Preference to practicing Roman Catholic.
Working conditions
Flexible hours.
Some hours outside business hours, and on weekends – for random off-campus checks.
Physical requirements
Standing, sitting, walking, use of computer, driving, occasionally lift or move office products up to 30 lbs.
