Duties and responsibilities


  • Coordinate and conduct trainings and presentations related to the prevention of child abuse.
  • Manage training logistics including coordination of settings and organizing materials.
  • Assist with recruitment, screening and training of volunteer training facilitators.
  • Works with other staff in the implementation of annual trainings.
  • Serves as the office liaison with community partners.
  • Assist with the general office duties.
  • Represent the organization to the public in person, via phone or e-mail in a professional manner.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve the office.
  • Assist with child abuse prevention efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Education
    • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminology, and Sociology or in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Skills
    • Strong verbal and communication presence is critical

  • Abilities
    • Travel within five counties of the Archdiocese is required.
    • Position is contingent on successful completion of a criminal background check.
    • Successful completion of required trainings.

 

  • Other characteristics such as personal characteristics
    • Working knowledge of and comfort with Catholic faith and parish life is required.

  • Experience
    • Training experience preferred.
    • Experience with child abuse prevention programming.
    • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing child abuse prevention or any other related trainings.
    • Strong verbal skills and strong interpersonal skills are important.
    • Ability to organize work, multi- task, and consistently meet deadlines.
    • Ability to perform job duties with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

 


Working conditions


This position is expected to be carried out Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some evenings and weekends are required.
