RESIDENTIAL AIDE
MCAULEY HOUSE

Shift: 12:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. (Weekends)
Residential Aides are responsible for the safety and well-being of the residents. They work to maintain order and structure in the house and to hold the residents accountable to the rules and policies of McAuley House at all times. Catholic Social Services is seeking compassionate and mission driven individuals for this role.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Fully comprehends, articulates and reflects in job performance the mission and philosophy of McAuley House.
Respond to doorbell, telephone and client inquires.
Responsible for writing reports to case managers and Program Supervisor regarding residents, incidents and concerns.
Perform hourly house checks and manage potential conflicts among residents.
Responsible for supervising and checking resident chores.
Prepares and serve client meals according to menu.
Perform housekeeping duties which includes laundering rugs, shower curtains and other linens. Clean and sanitize bathrooms, mop kitchen floor, dining room floor, hallways, and sanitize banisters.
Observe residents as they take their medication and log as instructed.
Perform urine drug tests as needed.
Attend monthly staff meetings and educational in-services.
Other duties as directed.
Follow emergency protocols.
Skills Required:
Competent decision making skills
Ability to respond appropriately to delicate and crisis situations
Good interpersonal skills
Understand the issues of women living with HIV
Ability to apply and enforce rules and regulations
Qualifications:
High school diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent
1- 3 years of Social Work Experience
Experience working with women living with HIV, mental health and drug/alcohol issues
Basic cooking skills
