JOB TITLE: Satellite Coordinator/Star Harbor

POSITION REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Senior Center Services and IHSP

Division: Community Based Services for Seniors

Primary Purpose of Job

The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for the operations of a satellite center.

Essential Job Functions

Supervise center staff, volunteers, and assigned aides.
Oversee maintenance of the facility and building equipment with Director.
Market and do outreach for center.
Supervise day to day operations and center staff and consult and coordinate all Human Resource functions with Director and Human Resource and Assistant Director.
Assure adherence to all policy and procedures related to the senior center's operation.
Perform all day to day fiscal duties with proper attention to stewardship, which includes purchasing supplies, monitoring expenses are within budget, preparing case deposits and related reports.
Maintain appropriate operational licensure and certifications, in accord with regulatory agency guidelines.
Responsible for development and implementation of the senior center program which includes but is not limited to congregate meals, social services, education, socialization, recreation, and health and wellness activities.
Responsible to meet service objectives and contractual obligations.
Maintain confidentiality of participant information in accord with confidentiality policy, professional standards and other regulations.
Adheres to established policies and procedures for Community Based Services for Seniors and Catholic Health Care Services at all times.
Demonstrates high standards of attendance and reports to work on time.

Other Job Functions

Responsible to implement the Mission and Philosophy of the organization within the scope of responsibility.
Work independently with a high degree of tact, discretion and professionalism.
Work collaboratively and cooperatively with Catholic Human Service entities and other community groups.
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel, other departments and partners of the program to assure that all services and activities can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the participant.
Interview, hire, and evaluate senior center staff under the guidance of the Director and make recommendations to the Director regarding promotions, corrective action, and on-going staff development.
Attend, participate and complete continuing educational programs designed to keep the Senior Center Manager abreast of changes in the profession.
Ensure that new employees receive the established orientation training and ongoing staff development opportunities related to position.
Ensure staff competency and education by completion of all required education and training including any change in regulatory or service enhancements and as required by PCA and agency guidelines.
Comply with current senior center operational requirements as outlined by CHCS/CSS, PCA, State Department on Aging, and local Department of Health.
Work with fiscal departments and Director to insure compliance with PCA directives and specific contractual and grant requirements.
Prepare PCA and internal reports and documentation as required.
Treat all staff, participants, residents and visitors with dignity and respect.
Submit data, consumer satisfaction surveys, and program evaluation as it relates to Quality Assurance and contractual guidelines.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Education

BA in Social Services, or other related field
SafeServ, CPR, and First Aide certifications are helpful.

Experience

Minimum of two (2) years' experience working with older adults

Physical Requirements (With or without the aid of mechanical devices)

Sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during work hours.
Must be able to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc. up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with participants, personnel and other agencies.
Must be able to work with older adults in a community setting respectful of their right to self-determination.
Is subject to frequent interruptions.
Is involved with participants, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all circumstances and conditions.
