Full Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Prepares forecasts of cash requirements to ensure the availability of cash to meet benefits and other financial obligations.
Reconciles bank accounts, resolves discrepancies between the general ledger and bank statements, and updates the on-line commercial banking platform.
Prepares monthly journal entries, account analysis, and monthly written financial statement analyses.
Prepares monthly investment reconciliation and related investment journal entries.
Summarizes all assistance gift information for financial reporting, auditing, and analysis, and produces the department’s monthly financial reporting package.
Assists with the preparation of annual financial statements and footnotes, supports tax and compliance reporting, and supports analysis for internal and external audits and for the Business Continuity Plan team.
Updates processes and procedures, and assists in other financial research, analysis and report preparation as required.

Qualifications

a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field;
at least two years of financial reporting and analysis experience with emphasis in corporate accounting and financial reporting;
an understanding of Accounting Principles and experience with computerized general ledger accounting systems; knowledge of Lawson Software a plus;
demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications; Advanced Excel, Word and Power Point knowledge;
the ability to work as an effective team member, as well as independently;
the ability to make sound decisions and judgments regarding complex issues;
demonstrated flexibility and extreme attention to detail;
demonstrated accountability to timely and accurate completion of responsibilities;
excellent analytical skills, decision making, and problem-solving ability;
excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; and
strong organizational skills;
the ability to work overtime and weekends as required in order to achieve goals; and
the ability to effectively work remotely utilizing an uninterrupted internet connection, as required.
