Awaken Church led the Freedom Night, which focused on spiritual bondage and oppression on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at San Marcos, Balboa, Eastlake, and El Cajon campuses.

The church’s Facebook page said that the event was an excellent opportunity for members to be free from their past negative thoughts. They noted that during the event, the church prayed for everyone to be free from the curses of this generation.

Besides, Claudia Ortega, one of the attendees, said in the comments that she heard a great message from Pastor Mike Yeager.

Fresh, Real, Powerful

The church’s website emphasized that they are a church that is “fresh, real, and powerful.” As further explained, Awaken Church influences its nations to know Jesus Christ. They added that they are focused on fulfilling the Great Commission.

Moreover, at Awaken Church, they mentioned that they are a place where faith, hope, and love are seen in their members. They noted that they nurture and strengthen leaders and individuals to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.

Awaken’s Story

According to the other section, the church was formerly called C3 San Diego. As further revealed, Pastor Jurgen, Leanne, and their family pioneered the church in 2005. The website noted that the people started gathering in hotels and school gymnasiums.

As added on the website, they sometimes meet in the performing arts centers and a hotel parking lot.

They emphasized that the Awaken Church grew to become a muti-campus and muti-generational church from a couple's vision. They could see people being transformed weekly, as posted on the website.

City-influencing Church

The same website emphasized that Awaken Church seeks to influence its city to glorify God. They explained that they want to become a church that creates marriages, families, and communities that flourish.

Moreover, Awaken Church wants to reach out to individuals for a fresh, genuine, and impactful experience with Jesus Christ. They added that they envision strengthening others to have a wealthy and victorious life.

The church also believes that its vision is possible through the help of the Holy Spirit. Besides, they mentioned that Awaken Church centers its mission on four primary areas. They seek to worship and evangelize.

In addition, they desire to accomplish their mission by making others Christ’s disciples and redeeming their community.

Church’s DNA

According to the church’s DNA page, this program could help new attendees build closer relationships with others at Awaken Church. They noted that it is a step to a deeper understanding of their God-given abilities.

They said members could learn from some of the most exemplary leaders in the DNA program at Awaken Church.

In addition, the website stated that the DNA Course is intended for individuals to learn more about how to grow in the Awaken culture. By taking the four levels of this course, people can develop their talents and gifts, as further explained on the website.

They stressed that they could empower the gift given by God by attending DNA classes. The website explains that the first level of DNA is about connecting to God and the church’s vision and community. Then, the following two stages are about developing and empowering members' gifts.

The last part of the course is joining the team of the Awaken Church, as posted on the website.
