Awaken Church will hold the "Shredder Wednesday" service to “shred” all negativity from its members on Dec. 28 at El Cajon, San Marcos, Balboa, and Eastlake Campuses.
The church’s Facebook page posted that Pastor Jurgen Leanne would deliver a powerful message at the event. They added that the Awaken Team would also inspire the participants.
Paper Shredder Machines
According to the church’s post, after the service, they will provide paper shredder machines so members can “shred” all written notices that bring negativity to them. They could get their reports, bills, and debts that they have acquired in the past.
Awaken Church emphasized that the activity is effective because it represents the burden of 2022. Shredding the photocopied papers could help them release themselves from the adverse effects it could help them, as explained on the website.
Moreover, the church reminded participants that they would only shred photocopied documents.
Losing Negative Thoughts
The BrainMD website revealed that having negative thoughts is one of the top mental habits to fail to start a new year. As further explained, people have thousands of ideas daily, most of which are harmful.
They said that these thoughts get into the mind without any permission. But the website emphasized that most of this negative thinking is not valid.
They call it Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANTs), which are robust and could lead to mental responses in the body, as mentioned on the website.
In addition, the website noted that studies advised that negative thinking could create pathways in the brain that could cause people to view life in a “half-empty” way. They stated that these thoughts could lessen activity in the parts of the brain that control criticism, planning, and self-regulation.
BrainMD emphasized that because of these effects, people could have poor decision-making.
Shred Resentments
On the same website, they stressed that people could also free themselves from hatred. They explained that accepting mistakes and letting go of the pain that others caused them could help people practice forgiveness.
Moreover, they mentioned that forgiveness is related to have beneficial results. Besides, they noted that resentment is like taking poison and hoping the other person will die.
Though the website said anger is normal and could also be considered a healthy emotion. But if living in hatred is not, as emphasized on the website. The website added that this feeling could result in stress that could increase heart rate, blood pressure, and blood sugar.
In addition, they noted that anger could have a more negative impact on a person’s health.
The website recommended that people could begin the process by avoiding talking about the person that caused them pain. They stated that this is a simple action but could give a more forgiving side for the heart and mind.
Letting Go of Criticism
BrainMD noted that being free from criticism and accepting mistakes or downfalls could better encourage individuals to develop themselves or pursue their goals.
According to them, self-criticism could be a setback in achieving their goal. The research explained that a critical response to making mistakes could lessen the possibility of success.
