About Church of St. Timothy

Church of St. Timothy is located at 2960 Canyon Road, Escondido, CA 92025. As indicated on its page, it continues Christ’s mission of love, mercy, and compassion through the guidance and empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

Its goal is to establish Christ’s community in its parish and reach out to those outside its parish in faithful commitment to its belief in the Holy Catholic Church.

The church had its beginnings in 1985. At that time, the Diocese of San Diego was experiencing rapid growth. As a result, the then Bishop Leo T. Maher called for the creation of several new parishes.

Among these parishes would be one for southern Escondido. This creation is to help relieve the burgeoning St. Mary’s Parish in central Escondido.

The Parish was named for St. Timothy.
