Christ Community Church prepares more than 200 backpacks for elementary students in Mira Mesa

Members of Christ Community Church prepared 230 backpacks filled with supplies for seven elementary schools in Mira Mesa on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

According to the church’s Facebook page, they will donate the backpacks to vulnerable kids. It extended its gratitude to those who donated and helped the success of its initiatives. 

Christ Community

The church’s website revealed that people came from different backgrounds, cultures, and life stages at Christ Community Church. But, they emphasized that it is where individuals can feel a sense of belonging.

The church said that members could create a genuine community with others. The website noted Christ Community Church’s members' desire to discover and obey Jesus completely.

Moreover, the website stated that the church’s mission is rooted in the Bible. They aim to let others know the Gospel and guide them to become passionate followers of Jesus, as further explained on the website.

Christ Community Church welcomes everyone regardless of where they are in their spiritual walk, as emphasized on the website. The church said it is a nondenominational Christian church in San Diego.

Church Acting in Love

The Crossmaps News website reported that the Christ Community Church’s Love Act is a ministry to support the needs of its community. According to them, it is an initiative of the church to demonstrate God’s love to others.

In addition, the website stated that the Love Act ministry distributes food as they work with other food organizations. As further explained, Christ Community Church partners with the San Diego Food Bank, Feeding San Diego, and more. The church gives out food once every month, as the website says.

The same online news reported that the Love Act ministry reached out to people who live in the street. As further revealed, members of this program help teach students at Walker Elementary.

More importantly, Christ Community Church motivates its members to bring their saved bottles and cans to the church through the Love Act ministry. They do it every last weekend of the month. They said they are selling them to add to the ministry's budget.

The news website also stressed that Christ Community Church seeks to expand its space for receiving donations from its partners this year. The church said they aim to have a food preparation area.

Besides, the report highlighted that the church aims to give out 100 tons of food this year.

Backpack’s Distribution in 2021

According to Crossmaps News, Christ Community Church highlighted that they distributed over 230 backpacks in 2021. They provided school supplies to the local schools, as further explained.

Aside from the backpack distribution, the website stated that the church had given 700 gifts to children during their Christmas operation for kids.

Food Distribution Efforts

Meanwhile, in another church’s Facebook post, the church highlighted their recent food distribution last Sunday, Aug. 28. As seen in the post, church members prepare meals and give groceries to the people in their neighborhood.

In addition, the post mentioned that some have given out fresh and dry goods. The church's Facebook page noted that the free food distribution started at 2 p.m.
