City View Church’s leaders attended the SoCal Leadership Summit on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the church’s campus.

The church’s announcement posted that they desire to motivate leaders in the local church. They added that this summit is a great opportunity for pastors, workers, and ministry teams to be empowered and trained for a new season.

SoCal Network

According to the SoCal Network’s website, the ministry was established in 1919. It is one of the districts of the General Council of the Assemblies of God in America, as added on the website.

Moreover, SoCal Network mentioned that they were created to reach out to individuals by sharing God’s word in every neighborhood. They aim to boost the confidence of church leaders through training and sending them into the mission field.

Besides, they noted that they want to strengthen local churches. The SoCal Network is giving them visions rooted in God’s desires and the power of the Holy Spirit, as stated on the website.

Living out their mission

The same website noted that the SoCal Network has reached 12 regions, from San Simeon to Fresno. They also created an impact from Bishop to the Mexican border, as mentioned on the website.

They emphasized that they have helped more than 480 churches with nearly 200,000 members and attendees. They added that they have trained 1,300 ministers with great credentials. The SoCal Network also had three executive officers and nineteen executive presbyters, as mentioned on the website.

They also established the Network Ministries, which particularly helps local churches.

SoCal’s Vision 2025

SoCal’s Vision page explained that “Vision 2025" is about making an impact on the growth of God's Kingdom, according to Pastor Rich Guerra, the Network Superintendent for SoCal. They said that they are asking for God’s help and the guidance of the Spirit to transform people’s lives in churches, communities, and around the world.

As further mentioned, their vision is simple but powerful. The website said that they are using a dual approach of building new churches and guiding their existing churches to become healthier and more effective.

Guerra noted that a “healthy church” means having a realistic influence on its neighborhood.

They are living out their vision by baptizing people annually, as added by Guerra. He said that they have a balanced number of attendees and committed servants.

Vision's Target

In his letter, Guerra emphasized that they are targeting the 17 million people in Southern California who have never had an encounter with the truth of Jesus Christ. He said among the 25 million individuals living in Southern California, 17 million haven’t heard that “Jesus loves them.”

Besides, Guerra believed that the most efficient way to share the Gospel was by planting churches. He said that church planting is effective because their team could tailor the church to a group or community.

He emphasized that having a church in their specific culture or community could be an easier way to help them enter into the family of God.

As part of fulfilling their vision, Guerra highlighted that they created the Leadership Network.
